SINGAPORE, May 23, 2025 — GeneIII Biotech, a leading enterprise in synthetic biology technology, officially held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony with the Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (TLL) at the TLL headquarters.
The two parties have been focusing on the scientific research transformation of Ergothioneine (EGT) in the field of anti-aging and intervention research on human reproductive system functional decline. Together, they aim to build a full-chain innovation system covering "Basic Research - Mechanism Exploration - Industrial Transformation," opening a new blue ocean in the field of life and health.

Established in 2002, Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory is a beneficiary of Temasek Trust and is affiliated with the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). As a pivotal life science research institution in Singapore, TLL focuses on the research and application of biomolecular science, addressing challenges in agriculture, environment, and food safety through technological innovation.
This strategic cooperation marks a further expansion of GeneIII's international research collaboration map, injecting new momentum into the integration of industry, academia, and research in Asian synthetic biology.

During the signing ceremony on May 23, Dr. Yang Qinghua, Director of Intellectual Property at Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, delivered a welcome speech, emphasizing that this cooperation represents a "cross-border collision between synthetic biology technology and life science basic research."
Subsequently, Mr. Ding Wei, Founder and Chairman of GeneIII, delivered a keynote speech titled "Progress in Ergothioneine Research Applications and Industrialization Practices." He systematically reviewed GeneIII's journey in achieving engineered mass production of Ergothioneine via synthetic biology and highlighted IIT (Investigator-Initiated Trial) human clinical research results in eye health, liver protection, and sleep health.
"GeneIII is currently the only enterprise that can be verified in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry as conducting human clinical trials for Ergothioneine capsules in Tertiary Grade A hospitals. We are also conducting IIT human clinical trials on Ergothioneine for improving carotid atherosclerosis. In the future, GeneIII will continue to verify other efficacies of Ergothioneine through IIT human clinical trials." — Ding Wei, Founder & Chairman, GeneIII

Dr. Pek Jun Wei, Principal Investigator at Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (and winner of the 2024 Dr. Susan Lim Award for Outstanding Young Scientist), detailed several ongoing studies at TLL, focusing on research themes and platform technologies. Dr. Pek cut through to the mechanism of human reproductive system functional decline, sharing TLL's frontier achievements: "Oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction are significant inducers of reproductive aging. As a new means of reproductive intervention, Ergothioneine may become a key molecule for delaying related degenerative lesions."
Mr. Peter Chia, CEO of Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, highly praised GeneIII’s industrialization capabilities in his closing remarks: "GeneIII has reconstructed the global supply chain of Ergothioneine with synthetic biology technology. Its high-purity raw materials and clinical evidence experience will provide solid support for the scientific research transformation of Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory. We look forward to more possibilities with GeneIII in the future."
The strategic cooperation agreement was signed by Mr. Ding Wei and Mr. Peter Chia, witnessed by research teams, corporate representatives, and invited guests.

On the afternoon of May 23, the GeneIII delegation visited the laboratory facilities of Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, observing technical achievements in gene editing and cell model construction. The two parties held a discussion on the application of the "Life Science Accelerator" platform, exploring potential research paths for Ergothioneine in the field of reproductive health, accumulating experience for future joint R&D.
This partnership follows GeneIII's established research cooperation with Professor Barry Halliwell (the founder of free radical aging theory) at the National University of Singapore. This collaboration with TLL represents another significant layout for GeneIII in the field of human health.

Ergothioneine, a natural antioxidant discovered in 1909, is known as the "Hermes of antioxidants" due to its ultra-small molecular structure and unique cellular mitochondrial protection mechanism. Previously limited by high extraction costs from mushrooms, GeneIII has used synthetic biology to achieve 99.99% ultra-high purity mass production over three years, reducing costs by 90% with a monthly capacity of 3-5 tons.
1. Eye Health Clinical Breakthroughs
GeneIII is the first enterprise in the industry to conduct IIT clinical trials for Eye Wash.(IIT:Investigator-Initiated Trial)
After using GeneIII Ergothioneine Eye Wash, subjects showed significant reductions in Dry Eye Questionnaire scores, Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) scores, and Visual Fatigue Scale scores. Both the first tear film breakup time and average tear film breakup time significantly increased compared to baseline.

2. Liver Health & Dietary Supplements
In the field of dietary supplements, GeneIII conducted clinical trials on Ergothioneine capsules with Tertiary Grade A hospitals.Â
Results: Interim analysis shows that after 15 and 30 days of supplementation, key liver function indicators such as AST (Aspartate Aminotransferase), ALT (Alanine Aminotransferase), and GGT (Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase) levels were significantly reduced, indicating a protective effect on the liver.

3. Skincare: Special Registration & Patent
GeneIII's skincare brand, HA&EGT has completed the National Special Cosmetic Registration for its Whitening and Spot-Fading Toner (verifiable on the official website). GeneIII is the first in the industry to achieve dual filing for an Ergothioneine Whitening Special Permit and an Anti-Aging Patent (patent for a skin care composition with whitening and anti-aging effects).

The rise of GeneIII is a commercial legend of rewriting industry rules through technological breakthroughs. Ding Wei (Founder & Chairman): Former executive at multinational giants A.O. Smith China and Hengjie Group; holds over 20 patents. Dr. Wang Yang (Co-founder & Chief Scientist): Ph.D. in Pharmacy from Oregon State University, Postdoc in Biomedicine from UIUC; inventor of Bacillus chromosome editing technology.
